Details on Journey to Abundant Self Love

Hi, everyone! I’m so excited to share details about my upcoming e-course, Journey to Abundant Self Love. I started work on this class back in April, prior to leaving on our extended trip this summer, so I’ve put a lot of love and work into developing the content. It’s been difficult for me to keep things relatively under wraps for this long, but I wanted to be sure the course was complete before writing too much about it to ensure the accuracy of what I told you! Now that the course is just a final look over away from completion and read for launch on Monday, I thought it would be a great time to share some information! Edit: the course is now live! Woohoo! You can see the enrollment page here. =)

Journey to Abundant Self Love is all about empowering you to give yourself the love and respect you deserve. It’s about understanding that genuine self esteem and self love are not competitive or comparative, and nurturing unapologetic love, respect, and admiration for yourself while being kind, forgiving, and accepting of others. It’s about rejecting the current popular and absurd notion that self-loathing and self-criticism are both normal and admirable.

Additionally, the Journey to Abundant Self Love class is:

Self-paced. Working on it 5 days a week the class will take about 6 weeks to complete. Although this sounds like a long time, most lessons will only take 15-20 minutes, if you you listen to the audio component (less if you don’t). Some lessons will take far less time and a few will take a little more.

Multi-media. The class has both audio components, which can be listened to online or by downloading to listen later on the go, and written components. The downloadable PDFs are divided into two categories: “class notes,” which are informative and have basically the same information as the audio portion and are for easy reference, and worksheets. The header images are different on the two types so you can easily tell them apart.

Web-based. The class is hosted on Teachery and all audio and PDF links are contained within the course. You won’t be getting loads of annoying emails – yay! The audio is hosted on Soundcloud and the PDFs on Dropbox, but you should not need an account with either service to access the materials.

Discussion-friendly. Each lesson has an area for comments and discussion so students can interact with each other (and me!) and ask questions.

Awesome! As I said, I’ve been working on the class for months and drawing on things learned while earning my Master’s in teaching, yoga teacher training, and life coach training.

A great investment. For less than the price of a cup of coffee each day, you can dramatically improve your life forever. I realize that sounds like a big claim, but think about it: how much more amazing would your life be if you loved yourself as fiercely as you love your girlfriends, children, sister, or mother? What if your inner voice was as complementing and kind to you as you physical voice is to them? It is absolutely possible! If you’re trying to save money, I completely understand –complete the (totally free!) 5 Day Mindset Reset Challenge, mark every lesson as complete, and you’ll receive a congratulatory email with 50% off the Journey to Self Love course! Make sure you’re checking off those lessons as finished to grab your awesome discount!

This is not a complete outline, but lessons cover many topics, including:

  • Evaluating your current self love state
  • Creating a vision for your future
  • Taking responsibility for your life and setting intention for change
  • Examining your core beliefs about yourself and the world
  • How to challenge negative thoughts
  • Ways to start each day with gratitude
  • Techniques for forgiving yourself
  • The necessity of accepting and loving yourself now
  • Tips for admiring yourself
  • Guidelines for creating affirmations and understanding how to use them effectively
  • Ways to view food as fuel, instead of heaping judgement on it and yourself as “good” or “bad”
  • The importance of kindness
  • Techniques to stop judging yourself and others
  • And so very much more!

There are also special “bonus” activities outside of the regular lesson structure, recipes for simple body care products, a suggested reading list, and plenty of other goodies!

I know that change can seem impossible and that if you’re struggling with self love blocks it can be so easy to dismiss a practice or idea as something that just won’t work for you. That’s why I’m also sharing two sneak previews of parts of actual lessons from the course to help you see how change is possible!

The first is the knowledge that, I’m sorry, but 21 days of doing something does not actually form a habit. It’s a myth, but that’s actually good news! If you’ve ever tried something for three weeks and didn’t find success, it’s just because you hadn’t actually formed a habit yet, not because you’re incapable of changing the way you think! A study conducted by University College London found it actually took participants and average of 66 days to form a new habit. Some people took far longer. You can read more about this research here.

The second thing I’m sharing is the very first lesson from the course – an audio clip explaining how change is possible due to your brain’s amazing neuroplasticity.

I firmly believe that it is each person’s birthright to love and appreciate herself (or himself!), her accomplishments, and her body. Like too many women in the modern world, I’ve struggled to love and appreciate myself fully throughout much of my life, but I’m done with it. I’m done with society telling us it’s desirable for women to feel like we’re never enough, that it’s acceptable to denigrate and judge others for a momentary boost. I’m sick of it and eager to subvert the dominate paradigm by loving myself and encouraging as many others as I can to love themselves, too. I’d be honored to be your guide on your own personal Journey to Abundant Self Love. I hope to see you there.

Sounds like an interesting course Natasha! It’s for six weeks but does it all have to be completed in that time frame? I’m going on a cruise in 3 weeks so don’t know if that’d put me so far behind I would be lost.

No, there is definitely not a time cap! Six weeks is basically the minimum amount of time it would take with a bit of work five days a week, but there is absolutely not a definitive start or end date. In fact, because it takes close to two months for most people to truly form a habit, taking longer could be better! I hope you have lots of fun on your cruise!! I’ve never been on one.
