Happy Thursday, everyone!
I’ve been having fun posting wedding WIP updates on Thursdays, so I thought I’d stick with it. Many of the items you see here will have tutorials at a later date, but I thought it would be nicer to save them until after the wedding when (hopefully) there will be nice photos of them in use. This week has been pretty busy because my large doormats enjoyed a weird explosion in popularity and the beginning of the month, but I have a few new items to show off.
I wanted some way to decorate the chairs along the “aisle” and played around with several possibilities before deciding to make paper flower pomanders. Each of these balls takes more than two sheets of 12×12 cardstock!
The breezes on Hawaii are usually pretty good, but you can never be sure about the weather. I decided to make hand fans for the guests. They’re chip board with a fabric on the outside. This one is purple batik, but they’ll mostly be “aloha fabrics.”
We’re using wood disposable flatware, as shown the other week, and making up little packets instead of having jars of utensils that everyone has to handle and stacks of napkins to blow away. I’ve come up with a really quick and easy way to streamline the napkin folding process that I’ll be sharing at a later date! We have purple bags with blue napkins and blue bags to use with purple napkins.
I’ve also been busy making jewelry for my sister and myself, but I don’t really have any even marginally acceptable photos to share!
It feels really good to be at a point where most of the necessary items are assembled and I’m actually putting things together. We still need three large bamboo poles and a couple of buckets, as well as more flat marbles for the vases, but we’re getting pretty close to having all the supplies we need! I can’t wait to share more next week. =)
