Printable Blog Planner Pages for August 2017 and Cactus Crafts Tutorials Roundup

July is almost over, so that means it’s time for printable blog planner pages for August 2017!

Just like the last few months, this page can be found in the printables for subscribers area right here. If you’re not a subscriber yet and would like to be one, you can also grab it from my Selz “store” here.

I went with a cactus theme for this month to match the post scheduler page available in the 2017 calendar post right here. I don’t know why, but back last December I was thinking of August as being hot and dry, which is why I originally went with the cactus idea. In retrospect, maybe I should have chosen a jungle theme because August seems a lot more likely to be hot and humid for me! However, since I went with cacti, I thought it would be fun to share a few cactus craft tutorials I’ve spotted lately on Pinterest!

My husband is strangely into making things with pipe cleaners (or “fuzzy sticks,” as I’ve seen them called a lot recently). I immediately thought of him when I saw this DIY Pipe Cleaner Cactus tutorial from Handmade Charlotte!

Cactus planters and pots with faux cacti made from a variety of materials seem to be showing up everywhere these days, but this DIY cactus in a teacup project from Intimate Weddings caught my eye because of the fun juxtaposition of spiky cactus and dainty teacup!

This tutorial is neat because it shows how to make a sign that looks like wood but is actually foam! What a great idea for folks who don’t have access to wood working tools. Stop by DIY Foam Cactus Sign from The Crafted Sparrow to learn how!

This Faux Porcelain Cactus Ring Holder from Vitamini Handmade also demos a neat new faux technique!

Cactus pillows are popular right now and, while most of the projects I’ve sen are super cute, I particularly like this DIY Cactus Stamp fabric tutorial from Patchwork Cactus.

And, of course, I posted a cactus tutorial recently – this easy polymer clay cactus necklace tutorial!

What’s your August weather usually like? Are you enjoying the cactus trend?

Aww..those cacti in a teacup remind me of my grandmother so much! I did a fabric cactus tutorial and it will be featured in a German national magazine in August šŸ™‚

Happy (upcoming) birthday and congrats on the scheduled magazine appearance! Aloe plants always remind me of my grandmother – maybe that’s one of the reasons I’ve always liked succulents!
